A strong understanding of fundamentals allows the artist to draw what they see and bring their imagination to life. This workshop will not only give you a lecture, during the workshop, students will have a fun exercise and draw along session to have a better understanding.
Lecture 1 (10am-11:30am)
Instructor 1: Dong Ho Kim
Dong Ho Kim is a South Korean illustrator, and instructor who is a prominent member of the distinguished Superani—founded by Kim Jung Gi and Hyun Jin Kim . Born in 1985 and raised in Seoul.
Specializes in urban sketching enriched with imaginative storytelling and vibrant characters, blending architecture, people, and narrative. His work is notable for highly detailed linework, dynamic perspectives, and expressive scene compositions that bring everyday city life to “life.”

How can everyday scenes become original stories? In this live demo, Dong Ho Kim shares his creative process for transforming real-world observations into imaginative, story-driven illustrations. Learn how to draw inspiration from familiar environments and develop them into unique visual narratives filled with character, atmosphere, and storytelling. By strengthening your ability to observe and reinterpret the world around you, you'll discover endless opportunities to create original and meaningful artwork.
Lecture 2 (12:00pm-1:30pm)
Instructor 2: Hyun Jin Kim
Hyun Jin Kim is a renowned art instructor, illustrator, and painter. He is the founder of Superani and established AniChanga art school in Korea as a resource for art students wishing to improve their drawing skills. Hyun Jin’s approach to teaching drawing has become the standard for Superani artists.

Beyond his role as the representative of Kim Jung Gi and founder of Superani, Hyunjin Kim is an accomplished artist and educator. In this live demonstration, he will share his approach to watercolor portrait painting, offering insights into his techniques, creative process, and material selection. Discover the tools and materials he relies on, and learn how choosing the right supplies can enhance efficiency, improve results, and elevate your overall painting experience.
Lecture 3 (2:00pm-3:30pm)
Instructor: Rockhe Kim
Rockhe Kim is presently a freelance illustrator and a teacher based in South Korea. With a major in Visual Art, he brings a wealth of experience to his craft. His background includes working as a concept artist for diverse clients, including Applibot and Marvel Comics.

Join Rockhe Kim for his first live demo in the United States as he showcases his expertise in human anatomy and figure construction. Starting with a reference photo, he will demonstrate how to transform a simple pose into dynamic and expressive character designs. Through this process, he will reveal how a strong understanding of anatomy, structure, and movement can elevate a static figure into a powerful and energetic composition while maintaining anatomical accuracy. This session is ideal for artists looking to strengthen their figure drawing skills and bring greater life, movement, and believability to their character designs.
Lecture 4 (4:00pm-5:30pm)
Instructor: Peter Han
Peter Han is a concept designer, illustrator, and educator best known for his Dynamic Sketching approach to drawing and design. With over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry, he has worked on video games, film, and visual development projects while teaching and inspiring artists around the world through workshops, lectures, and publications.

Join Peter Han for a live drawing demo and learn how to turn a single prompt into a compelling illustration. Drawing inspiration from real insects that he will bring to the session, Peter will demonstrate how to transform observational sketches into imaginative characters that inhabit a fully realized scene. Using familiar characters and design principles, he will share his process for developing compositions, storytelling, and client-ready artwork. This lecture is ideal for artists looking to strengthen their ability to visualize, design, and execute ideas from simple briefs.

Each artist will be available for book signing sessions during breaks and from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. To help minimize wait times after the lecture, we strongly encourage attendees to purchase books upon check-in or during intermissions.

Light refreshments and lunch (with vegetarian options) will be served during the 30-minute intermissions (11:30am 1:30pm, 3:30pm) allowing attendees to enjoy snacks and meals while helping us keep the program running smoothly and on schedule.
